Biography
Professor Gisele Canuto is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in Salvador, Brazil. She has a postdoctoral degree from the Institute of Chemistry at USP (IQ-USP), in Analytical Chemistry. Prof Gisele received her Ph.D. (2016) and Master’s degree (2011) in Sciences at IQ-USP. In 2011, she worked at The Centre of Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO) in Madrid, Spain.
She has experience in untargeted metabolomics performed by separation techniques (LC-MS, GC-MS, and CE-MS). Her research interests include analytical methods development for metabolomics (sample preparation, analysis, and data treatment). She is currently involved in metabolomics studies of neglected and emerging diseases (leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, zika, chikungunya, and dengue) and cancer.
